Europeans first encounter with the Native Americans

When the Europeans first came to this strange land they didn’t actually know what to expect. It was two o’ clock when the land was discovered. Christopher Columbus had discovered it with his crew. The Europeans described that they saw naked people and they saw really green trees many streams and different kinds of fruits. I would assume that the Native Americans were either nervous or scared because of these tall white men with swords and a big thing that they never seen before called a ship. The Native Americans were fascinated by the Europeans swords and the way that they were dressed.

The Europeans said they looked like poor people they were completely naked and they painted their bodies different colors some painted their faces some painted only their torsos etc. the Europeans were surprised because they had no weapons and they had never seen any either because the Europeans had swords and the Natives grabbed them by the blade out of ignorance. Christopher Columbus was ready to make them become Christians. The Native Americans probably didn’t know how to react because these tall white men from a different land just came to their land and is about to change their whole way of living, their culture, their language and their whole continent. Christopher Columbus also said in his journal that “it appears to me that the people are igneous, and would be good servants and I am of opinion that they would very readily become Christians, as they appear to have no religion. They very quickly learn such words as are spoken to them. If it please our lord, I intend at my return to carry home six of them to your highness, that they may our language. I saw no beasts in the island, nor any sort of animals except parrots”.

No they shouldn’t say it if they do not want to.

No. The courts say that students have the right to sit silently during the flag salute and Pledge of Allegiance as a protest against government policies

No because they aren’t supposed to.

Can school officials sponsor prayers or religious references at our graduation or other school ceremonies?

I think they should be able to if the people praying with them are consenting however they cannot.

The school authorities and the student body cannot allow either a religious leader or a student to give a prayer at graduation ceremonies or at extracurricular school activities such as sporting events.

Can school officials sponsor a moment of silence?

Yes because if someone dies then they should have a moment of silence.

It depends on what the purpose of the moment of silence is, and how it is carried out. If the only purpose or effect is to promote religion then it is probably forbidden by the Constitution.

Can the school allow Christmas programs or other types of religious pageants or displays?

I think they should because for example Christmas everybody celebrates Christmas even people who aren’t Christian celebrate Christmas.

The school may not display religious symbols on school property. Sometimes, however, it’s not clear whether an exhibit clearly sends a religious message.

Can student groups hold religious meetings on school property?

Yes, like during lunch or when not in class.

Yes, during non-class hours, if other student groups are also allowed to meet there.

Is it legal for students to hold prayer rallies around the flagpole?

Yes

Yes. Students may hold informal prayer rallies on school grounds before or after school.

May students hand out Bibles or other religious materials in school?

I think people should or students in this case and they can.

The law is unclear about this. In California, a court upheld a school policy prohibiting distribution of religious literature. However, students around the country have filed lawsuits claiming that they have First Amendment rights to pass out religious materials if schools allow students to circulate other literature.

 The three most important traits of being an American are achievers, hardworking, and the love of freedom and to practice their religion of choice. Trait #1 Achievers: In America dreams are possible to achieve because America is the land of opportunity and that is what America is known for. Americans are achievers because they achieve their goals in life. Trait # 2 hardworking: Americans get up in the early morning to go to work so they can feed their families and maybe even go on vacations. Americans are hardworking because they like materialistic things and all the joys in life because you only live once that is the attitude of an American. Trait # 3 Freedom, Religion: In America you have the choice of which religion you would like to practice or the decision of not practicing any religion at all. In America freedom is free, religion is free, no religion is free, life is free, there is no cost in America. Those are the three most important traits of being an American.

“From the Towers, from the planes, Love, and again, love” because it’s basically saying how the people that were in the planes and the people that were in the towers somehow let their families know that they loved them.

           When I first hear about the attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon I was in my third grade classroom and the teacher put on the news just like we had did every morning and then that’s when we found out. When I first heard about it I felt really bad for those people’s family members who died. It affected my life because I am an American citizen and I take pride in my country and so It affected me a lot. Some other things that I remember about that day are there was a lot of crying, and praying.

If I were trapped on one of those planes during that time my first reaction would be to probably go lock myself in the bathroom and sit there so the hijackers wouldn’t see me so they wouldnt kill me. I would have called my grandma and told her that I love her and apologize for not always getting along with her.  I would have told her that I love her.
